Phone ethics is something.

My eldest daughter is planning to watch a movie with her friends on Thursday and because of so much excitement, she called a day before to remind them (for the nth time) their schedule, meeting place and  itinerary for the group date.

9AM
Nikkie: Hello, Pwede kay Serge
Cheb who happened to be beside her whispered: Wala man lang good morning...
Nikkie: Eh bata naman kausap ko noh.
Cheb: Kapag bata, walang goodmorning. HALA!

I can tell by the look on her face that Nikkie was annoyed by his younger brother comments, after her conversation with her friend, I told her that Cheb is right. It's not an excuse that she is talking to a friend. And that next time, she should be more careful when talking to anyone else. She accepted the explanation and apologized for being rude.
Cheb may sound quite comical but he has a point here. Even us adults, we tend to forget "respect" when we are dealing with kids or people younger than our age. We have this notion that we only have to pay respect to elders and elders are strict to their beliefs that they should receive respect from younger generation no matter what they do because they are "more experienced", "wiser" and "more accomplished".
Respect knows no age, no race and no religion. It should be given to those who deserve it no matter how young or old she is. No matter what the color of her skin.
